The Analysis of Factors Influencing on Welfare Attitudes-Focused on the Trust, Social Acceptance, and Social Communication

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore whether the trust, social acceptance and social communication influence on welfare attitudes. The analysis data for this study is Korea Social Integration Survey(2016) conducted by the Korea Institute of Public Administration(KIPA) because the survey is most suitable for examining the trust, social acceptance and social communication. The welfare attitude, the dependent variable, is measured by the question asking respondents¡¯s subjective idea on the tax boost for the welfare of the poor. The results of this study are as follows. Given the social-demographic characteristics, the higher the age, education level, and monthly average presonal income, the more people are pro-welfare. Trust has a positive influence welfare attitudes. In the case of social acceptance, the more people have social acceptance, the more they are pro-welfare. In the case of communication, the more people have public communication, the more they are pro-welfare. On the other hand, the more people have private communication, the less they are pro-welfare. Discussion and suggestions have been proposed based on the results.
